Founded after the battle of Guan Du by Cao Cao, Wei held the largest amount of land during the three kingdoms period leading the way to the Wei dynasty founded under Cao Cao's son Cao Pi. Eventually as Wei conquered the lands of the other two kingdoms, Shu and Wu, the Jin Dynasty was begun under the rule of the Sima family.
